In the world of interior lighting, every light fixture counts – but pendant lights, in particular, make a statement. At Licht-Kraus GmbH in Sasbach, you'll find an exclusive selection of high-quality, brand-name pendant lights that meet the highest standards – from elegant glass and delicate metal frames to state-of-the-art color temperature adjustment and smart control options. In this "Indoor Pendant Lights" category, we present exclusive pendant lights, many of them "Made in Germany," with outstanding quality, durable craftsmanship, and timeless design.
Pendant lights are more than just illumination – they are a design element, a style statement, and a functional light source all in one. Our selection includes models from top-tier manufacturers – from delicate glass lampshades to solid bar pendant lights and smart, height-adjustable, dimmable solutions. Features such as adjustable color temperature, dimmability via app or sensor, "Made in Germany," and electronic height adjustment are not exceptional features for us, but rather part of our premium range. Especially in dining and living areas, above tables or seating groups, such lights significantly influence atmosphere, comfort, and aesthetics.
Our pendant lights impress with carefully selected materials and differentiated designs:
Glass pendant lights : Clear glass, smoked glass or satin glass convey lightness and elegance – ideal when lighting effect and style are the focus.
Metal or aluminum frames : brass, bronze, nickel or black metallic – high-quality surfaces for sophisticated interiors.
Beam pendant lights : Linear lights above the dining table or kitchen island offer even illumination and a modern look.
Smart & Technology : Many models offer stepless height adjustment, integrated LED modules, sensor control or app dimmer – ideal for individually controllable lighting environments.
Quality “Made in Germany” or European brand production with high durability are an integral part of our standards at Licht-Kraus.
A good pendant light not only provides light, it adapts to your room, your habits and your style:
Color temperature adjustment : From warm ambient light (~1 800 Kelvin) to cool white (~6 000 Kelvin) – adjustable depending on mood, time of day or activity.
Dimming and control solutions : Whether classic wall switch, sensor, remote control or app control – we offer models with state-of-the-art control technology.
Height adjustment : Many pendant lights can be adjusted in height manually or by motor – ideal for different table heights or room configurations.
Glare-free lighting & light distribution : Microprismatic covers, opal glass, diffused light or precise spotlights prevent disturbing glare – and ensure pleasant light above living or dining tables.
Pendant lights are particularly effective in selected areas:
Above the dining table : Placed directly, rather in the center, a pendant light provides focused light, a pleasant atmosphere and style.
Kitchen island or bar area : Linear bar pendant lights create targeted illumination and a modern ambience.
Living or seating area : Round or decorative pendant lights add decorative accents while simultaneously providing light.
Hallway or gallery : Height-adjustable lights are suitable for changing table heights or varying room heights.
Within these spaces, pendant lights not only perform lighting functions – they shape the atmosphere, spatial effect and aesthetics.
To ensure your pendant light looks perfect – and functions optimally from a technical standpoint – we recommend the following points:
Dimensional accuracy: Measure the tabletop and the room height.
Technical specifications: Check for dimmer compatibility, mains connection, and control system.
Spatial impact: Material, shape, color and surface should match the room concept.
Consultation: Use our showroom in Sasbach or our telephone consultation service at 07841/27447.
1. What should the distance be from the top of the table to the bottom of the light fixture?
The ideal distance is generally about 60–75 cm from the top of the table to the bottom of the pendant light. This ensures pleasant light distribution and sufficient visibility of the table surface and the person speaking. Lower heights are suitable for rooms with lower ceilings; greater distances of around 90 cm or more can be useful for high ceilings or long tables.
2. How far should the light fixture be from the outer edge of the table?
The outer edge of the light fixture should typically have a 25-50 cm gap from the outer edge of the table – this makes the light appear integrated, but not flush or protruding. For rectangular tables, a single light fixture is often mounted centrally above the table, while for round tables, a round light fixture or a group of lights may be used.
3. How can I dim the pendant light?
There are several possibilities:
Dimmable switch : Classic wall switch with phase-cut dimming or – if LED is integrated – a suitable dimmer.
Sensor-dimmable light : Lights with an integrated presence or brightness sensor dim automatically or can be controlled via touch/sensor.
App or smart dimmer : Light color and brightness can be controlled via smartphone, tablet or home automation (e.g. Casambi, ZigBee).
When purchasing, make sure that your home connection is compatible, whether an external ballast is required, and whether a remote control is integrated.
4. What types of height adjustment are there?
Manually adjustable : Fluorescent tube or pulley system can be adjusted during installation.
Mechanical lift : Cable routing with integrated rope or chain mechanism, low noise.
Electronically adjustable : Motorized height adjustment via remote control or app – ideal for changing table heights or combinations.
Note: Not all models are suitable for sloping roofs or uneven ceilings – it is best to consult with us in this case.
5. What do I do at a round table?
For a round table, a round pendant light or a circular light fixture/group is usually recommended, as it visually follows the table's circumference and avoids sharp corners. This creates a harmonious lighting and spatial effect. It is crucial that the light fixture hangs centrally and is proportionate to the table size.
6. What colors of light are there – and what does the Kelvin rating mean?
≈ 1800K : Very warm light (similar to candlelight) – ideal for a very cozy atmosphere.
≈ 2700K : Extra warm white – typical living area, dining area, cozy atmosphere.
≈ 4000K : Neutral white – good reading light, modern recessed lights.
≈ 5000–6000K : Cool white – objective, sober, as task light or accent.
≈ Dim-to-Warm : Starts at 3000K and goes down to 1800K. Similar to old halogen lights.
Premium pendant lights often offer a variable color temperature (Tunable White), allowing you to choose between these ranges via switch, app or remote control.
7. What about interchangeability and service?
High-quality pendant lights often have replaceable ballasts or drivers. In contrast, many integrated LED modules can only be replaced at the factory. When purchasing, pay attention to information regarding module or driver replaceability and the availability of spare parts. At Licht-Kraus, we are happy to advise you on long-term usability – service and spare parts are part of our offering.
8. How can glare be avoided?
Glare occurs when light sources are at eye level, either directly or reflected. Measures to avoid it:
Use of microprismatic cover or lens optics instead of clear glass.
Opal glass or a frosted surface reduces light reflections.
Dimmability and height adjustment: The closer the lamp hangs to the tabletop, the stronger the light effect – ideally, maintain a fixed distance.
Optical alignment: Adjust the light cone so that it falls on the table surface and not into the room or into the eyes.
