Achern Riding Hall - State Prize for Building Culture 2024

The riding hall in Achern has received the Baden-Württemberg State Prize for Architectural Culture. Originally conceived as a riding arena, the building now serves as a versatile market hall, housing a wide variety of offerings and areas. A café invites visitors to linger, while a florist offers a diverse selection of plants. In addition, there is a zero-waste shop, enabling environmentally friendly shopping without packaging waste, and a bookstore that invites browsing and reading. Besides these commercial offerings, the riding hall also provides space for exhibitions.

The successful conversion of the former riding hall into a multifunctional market hall impressively demonstrates how historical building fabric can be preserved while simultaneously adapting to new requirements. This blend of tradition and modernity rightfully earned the riding hall in Achern the 2024 Baden-Württemberg State Prize for Building Culture.

We are proud to have equipped the hall, as well as the adjacent offices and apartments, with our lighting. In the market hall, we installed track lighting systems specifically designed for the optimal presentation of individual products. These spotlights ensure that the goods are showcased in the best possible light, enhancing their appeal.

In these apartments, our focus was primarily on decorative lighting. We integrated ceiling lights that harmonize with the materials used. In addition, recessed spotlights are installed throughout the living areas to provide even ambient lighting. We also used ceiling panels , floor lamps, spotlights , and pendant lights to create an atmospheric ambiance.
